It also hosts a variety of theme nights for those members of the LGBTQ community with unique tastes looking to connect with others who share their interests. Located in West Charlotte near the airport, the Woodshed caters to the leather and bear crowds. The bar has a very welcoming atmosphere and is a great place to chill out with a beer in a mixed, inclusive crowd. Sidelines offers TVs, pool, darts, and weekly drink specials. Sidelines is known as a gay bar but you will find both queer and straight patrons at this venue. Right next door to Argon is Sidelines Sports Bar, which bills itself as the Carolinas’ only gay sports bar. As with most bars, the atmosphere and activity at the bar may differ depending on the day of the week and time of day that you visit. ![]() Argon has both a dance floor, a patio, and a seated lounge area. Argon bills itself as a video bar and hosts karaoke on certain nights of the week. This bar has a reputation of having a diverse patronage. Bar Argon in south Charlotte is a great starting point for newcomers to get familiar with Charlotte’s LGBTQ community.
